Things to do in Boston - Boston Cafe
Jenny Bistany – Owner, Boston Café

One of the oldest businesses in Quincy Market is Boston Café that was established by Antonios Bistany in the mid 1980’s. Today, his daughter Jenny Bistany, operates the busy café serving over 200 varieties of high-end fine chocolates, candies and gourmet coffee drinks. Jenny says that most of the items she serves are made by local businesses. “I feature chocolate made by America’s Oldest Candy Company, a local, family run enterprise,” said Jenny.

Jenny says that she truly enjoys working at Faneuil Hall Marketplace for many reasons. “I love meeting new people from all over the world, assisting them, or even just watching their faces light up when they look at my chocolate and candy displays.”

She says the secret to her success at Boston Café is that she takes pride in every single aspect of running her small business. “I love working with people and making them happy. Offering the freshest, highest quality products results in return customers, even tourists who are visiting Boston for only a few days. And to me that is the biggest compliment.”

Boston Café enjoys a wide variety of customers, from local residents to tourists on vacation. She has many repeat customers. Some of the most popular items at Boston Café are espresso drinks and mochas, and are great to warm you up during the winter months.

Jenny says that the Christmas season is always her favorite time of the year especially with the new Blink! program. “I find myself anxiously waiting for Christmas at Faneuil Hall. It is the most exciting time. I try to encourage early day shoppers to stick around until late afternoon so that they get to experience the magic.”

Next time you are in Quincy Market and need a hot drink on a cold day, be sure to stop by Boston Café and say hi to Jenny.
