WHAT YEAR DID YOU JOIN THE STREET PERFORMER PROGRAM? 2017

BIO: Sara Kunz was born and raised in Kona, Hawaii doing martial arts and competitive sports (not including dance or gymnastics) and left to complete here degree in Fine Arts at the University of Oregon. It was there that she discovered her passion for circus, so she worked her way through college saving for circus school. She was determined to make hula hooping her career. In 2012, she got her BA, and left for circus school in Beijing, China where she studied acrobatics and contortion. It was there that she fractured her spine and flew home with dreams crushed and a heavy heart.

By 2013, time (and copious amounts of physical therapy) helped her heal, and she set off to Prague as the recipient of the 2013 Hooprubia dance, hoop, and yoga scholarship. After her first ever street show in Prague, and a few more weeks of traveling Europe learning to perform, she quit her job back home with the Department of Education and started her career as a variety performer based in Berlin, Germany.
Since then, Sara has worked at dozens of variety show theaters, in over 10 countries while speaking in 7 languages. She has no plans to stop, only to keep learning, growing, and making people smile.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT PERFORMING AT FANEUIL HALL MARKETPLACE? My favorite aspect of performing at Faneuil Hall is being able to continue a time-old-tradition (street performing) in a location that is in itself a beautiful piece of history. It is wonderful to have such a vast demographic of visitors who get to enjoy the show. It keeps me working to please all ages, cultures, and attitudes. I feel the audiences are appreciative, kind, and always ready for a giggle and a cheer!
